Owner and Medical Director

Jennifer L. Kistler D.V.M.

An associate of Oxbridge Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Kistler was born and raised in Pennsylvania, but most certainly is a Richmonder at heart.  She graduated from University of Richmond with a B.S. in Business Administration, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from VA/MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994.  Dr. Kistler then returned to Richmond and joined our staff. In January, 2013, Dr. Kistler purchased the Brandermill Animal Hospital.

Dr. Kistler currently resides in Northside with her three rescued cats; Squirrel, Spyder, and Rip.  She enjoys weekend gardening, competitive swimming, and family time.  Recently, Dr. Kistler has garnished a reputation for designing and making Apple Head Dolls, an Appalachian traditional folk doll.  She enjoys the artistry and the history behind these fascinating little dolls.

Dr. Kistler is a wonderful, caring veterinarian, and we are very lucky to have her here at Brandermill Animal Hospital.  She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, and Virginia Academy of Small Animal Medicine.  Professionally, Dr. Kistler strives to provide the best in preventative medicine, thereby greatly enhancing the animal-human bond.

Dr. Gudaitis was born and raised in North Carolina.  She moved to Richmond to join the Brandermill family following her graduation from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2013.  Prior to receiving her D.V.M., she graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science and a minor in genetics at NCSU.  Along with her love for cats and dogs, Dr. Gudaitis also has an interest in the field of exotic veterinary medicine.

Dr. Gudaitis currently lives with her two cats, Bella and Jasper, and her corn snake D'Artagnan.  She enjoys filling her free time with various arts and crafts, mountain biking, letterboxing, and reading.  She is always on the lookout for new activities and looks forward to getting to know her new home state and the people in it.
